The Beginnings...
 In the mid 1970’s while living in Toronto, I became the proud owner of a three week old, purebred, Bouvier des Flanders puppy.
Being a proud new pet owner for the first time, I wanted to know everything there was to know about pet food. What exactly did those hard to pronounce ingredients do or didn’t do?
It was not until I read an article, ‘The Gravy Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore’ in a magazine called, *‘Harrowsmith’, that opened my eyes to the fact that many commercial pet foods were sadly lacking in nutrition.
It was evident, more and more pets were now sharing some of man’s worse ailments including urinary infections, diabetes and obesity, to mention a few.
Pet owners were starting to read the ingredients on the labels of pet food and a vast number were also looking to change the way they were feeding their pets. I, too, was part of that group looking to find a healthy, wholesome & nutritional alternative to a commercial pet diet, and as a result…
